The Fall of the BroMan Empire

The TNA tag team division has changed a lot over the past couple of years.  Some teams have left the company, some teams fell apart only to feud, and thankfully some new teams debuted or old teams reformed.  Whether you love them or hate them, The BroMans have been perhaps the only constant in the turbulent TNA tag team division for the past two years.

Yet two weeks ago, in the thick of TNA's Tag Team Gold tournament, the unthinkable happened; complete Bro versus Bro meltdown!  Looking back at their career together we ask...where did it all go wrong for The BroMans?

Night of Knockouts: The Dawn of a New Era

Hello TNA Knockouts fans and welcome to the very first edition of Knockouts Breakdown! We are just coming off the heels of a very exciting TNA TKO A Night Of Knockouts show that has officially started a new era in the Knockouts Division. This show was significant for several reasons but the main ones being how well the Knockouts did with a larger amount of time and how well the new talents would do in the Knockouts Division, so let's take a look around and see what's going on with the Knockouts and what the future will hold.

TNAMecca Presents CHAT - Apr 27, 2015

Welcome to TNAMecca Presents CHAT!  Although we aren't an open forum where members can start their own threads, our sense of community spirit is what sets us apart from other wrestling sites so we thought it'd be fun to give our members the ability to dictate the discussion throughout the week via CHAT.  Anything goes in CHAT but we do ask that most topics remain TNA-related. You can also discuss any rumors from any source regardless of how ludicrous they might sound.  However, the same etiquette rules that apply to our comments section in general also will apply here, including our policy on spoilers.

Ringside: Impact Wrestling Review - Apr 24, 2015

The show kicked off with a in-ring promo of what we were lead to believe would be a main event match later in the night.  Eric Young is a hot commodity right now because his deranged antics have become nearly unstoppable.  He wields the piledriver and figure four leg lock like the old-school pro-wrestlers of yesteryear.  He has become the incarnation of a rough and rugged 70's or 80's era grappler.  A throwback with a modern twist.  He out showed Austin Aries and Kurt Angle on this episode and it made me excited about another Eric Young World Title reign in the future.  His pildrivers on Aries looked legit and I was genuinely concerned that Aries' neck might have been damaged.  I imagine Aries will recover and still cash in his Feast or Fired briefcase at a more appropriate time in the future.  Young completely decimated Angle too and asserted himself again as someone not to mess with in TNA.

Post-Impact Discussion for Apr 24, 2015

One of my favorite activities after watching Impact is searching for forums in which fans can talk about the show and share with one another their thoughts.  However, it's getting increasingly harder to find venues where TNA fans can safely express their opinions on Impact without having to deal with the trolling of the anti-TNA crowd or the smarks who insist on taking the fun out of pro wrestling.

For this reason, we felt it was important to make TNAMecca available to our readers and any TNA fans who would like to discuss the show after watching it.  You can now visit TNAMecca immediately following Impact to do exactly that in the comments section below each and every week.  So please feel free to share with us your thoughts on tonight's TKO: A Night of Knockouts on Destination America from Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida.  What did you think of the show?  What did you like or dislike?  Let us know.

TNAMecca Exclusive: Q&A with Taryn Terrell

Tomorrow night on a special episode of Impact, "TKO: A Night of Knockouts", the women of TNA will be in the spotlight. One of those women is TNA Knockouts champion Taryn Terrell, who will be defending her title against the dominating force that is Awesome Kong. On the day of the biggest match in her career, Terrell agreed to answer some questions for us and although she was pressed for time due to her busy schedule this week, she was still able to come through for us. Below is our exchange:

TNA Friday Randomania - Apr 24, 2015

- If you're a fan of women's wrestling, I imagine tonight's episode of Impact will be quite a treat for you. TNA has rolled out the proverbial red carpet for fans of the Knockouts so I hope they, in return, will tune in tonight because I suspect that TKO: A Night of Knockouts is as much a test as it is a nice gesture by the company. Tonight is an opportunity for everyone who regularly displays their love for the Knockouts on social media to show TNA (and other wrestling promotions) that there's a real demand for women's wrestling. You've been asking TNA for more Knockouts for a long time and they've held up their end of the deal tonight with quite possibly the most anticipated episode for fans of women's wrestling. I just hope you hold up your end of the deal by tuning in.

EYolution

It's said that in order for a wrestler to attain longevity they need to be able to adapt and evolve their character every few years in order to stay fresh & current with times, and now with 11 years of service under his belt in TNA, it can be said that Eric Young is a testament to this theory. Not only has Young climbed the ladder in TNA since his debut in 2004, but he has embodied a range of characters, which have interestingly all contributed attributes to the current persona Young portrays today.

Word of Mouth

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Yes, let's start with a cliché. However, most clichés are clichés because they are true. I mean, when I lose something it is always in fact, in the last place I look am I right? Well, the same could be said for advertising and marketing. We see the way technology has changed and how we consume media is drastically different now than it was ten years ago. We now have ads that pop up on websites that are catered to us based on what we search. We have viral videos and product placement everywhere you look. But, the most effective way to market a product is good old fashioned word of mouth. This has been something that TNA has struggled with over the years and while I know TNAMecca and many of us always try to spread the positive vibes about TNA, there just doesn't seem to be enough of it out there. Why is that? Well, let's put the cage back up, get inside and explore.

Ringside: Impact Wrestling Review - Apr 17, 2015

Once again Impact had a theme for this particular show "Tag Team Gold", with Eddie Edwards out injured the Wolves decided to relinquish the World Tag Team Titles, opening the door for 8 teams to compete against each other to crown new champions. With legends like the Hardys, the interesting pairing of Bram & EC3, the reunion of the Dirty Heels and the guarantee of a 4 team Ultimate X match, this show was set to deliver another quality 2 hour broadcast.

TNAMecca Exclusive: Q&A with Matt Hardy

Tomorrow night on a special episode of Impact, Tag Team Gold, eight teams will compete for the chance to become the new TNA tag team champions. One of those teams are the Hardys, and although they've held many championships in their career, the TNA tag team championship is not one of them. Can the Hardys outlast seven other teams to become the TNA tag team champions for the first time? Well, let's hear from Matt Hardy, who has taken the time to answer some questions for us. Our exchange is below:

TNA Friday Randomania - Apr 17, 2015

- Tonight's episode of Impact centers around the Tag Team Division and specifically the vacant tag team titles. The tag titles were relinquished, two weeks ago, by the Wolves due to Eddie Edwards' inability to compete because of a serious foot injury. As a result, TNA's giving eight teams an opportunity to compete in tonight's tag team tournament, in which there will be four qualifying matches. The winners of each qualifying match (four in total) will advance to compete in the main event, an Ultimate X match, to crown new tag team champions, and it's all taking place in one night in what TNA is calling Tag Team Gold.

TNA and Taz have Decided to Part Ways

TNA Executive Vice-President John Gaburick announced via Twitter that Color Commentator Taz has left the company. As you may be aware there has been a rumour circulating the last 24 hours that the two sides were having issues regarding pay, allegedly leading to Taz not participating in a scheduled recording session to do announce work for the next several episodes of Impact. We at TNAMecca would like to thank Taz for his 5 years of service and wish him the best for the future.

Ringside: Impact Wrestling Review - Apr 10, 2015

This week's Impact opened with last week's controversial ending to the world title match between Kurt Angle and Lashley. Clearly, Lashley's shoulders were not down and as a result, Kurt Angle should not have been declared the winner. Unfortunately, as is often the case in sports, a referee's call can not be reversed so all that's left to do is simply accept it and move on. Lashley, however, confronted Angle and reasoned with him to give him another shot at the title due to last week's finish. Kurt Angle, never one to back down from a challenge, seemed willing to accept until Eric Young, the new #1 contender based on this week's TOP 5 rankings, insisted that Lashley step aside because he had his chance. This is another example of the writers thinking long term (Eric Young vs Lashley and/or Kurt Angle) while not quite ready to close the book on Angle vs Lashley. It's intricate storytelling as its best. In the end, the segment ended with the booking of a three-way world title match in the main event, but not before Lashley accidentally speared Angle after his intended target, Eric Young, moved out of the way. It's smart booking by TNA simply because it saves the much-anticipated rematch between Kurt Angle and Lashley for a later time, perhaps at a live show this Spring, while keeping EY relevant.

TNAMecca Exclusive: Q&A with Drew Galloway

Tomorrow night on a special episode of Impact, in which TNA in collaboration with Destination America will air fans' tweets live during the show, Drew Galloway and the Rising will battle the Beat Down Clan in a six-man fight. A feud fueled by the genuine hatred of its combatants and highlighted by the blood that's been spilt, tomorrow night's clash promises to continue this trend. I'm happy to report that Drew Galloway, just a day before his war against the BDC, took the time to answer some questions exclusively for TNAMecca. Below is our exchange:

TNA Friday Randomania - Apr 10, 2015

- According to Dixie Carter, new tag team champions will be crowned next week in an episode that will feature a mini-tournament involving several tag teams, presumably eight. As per Josh Mathews in his weekly preview, the teams that win their matches will then advance to compete for the TNA tag team championships in an Ultimate X match, all of this taking place in one night. It should be interesting because if I'm right, and eight teams participate, then we'd most likely witness four teams (each one winning their qualifying match) competing in Ultimate X.  Carter, as well as Mathews, noted that the teams and stipulation specifics will be revealed on tonight's episode so we should know more soon. I wonder if this has something to do with TNA recently trademarking 'the Dirty Heels'. Could we see the duo of Bobby Roode and Austin Aries reunite for the chance to become the new tag team champions? I certainly hope so. I imagine we'll see the Hardys participating, which some believe are the favorites, as well as the BroMans. I'm also sure the company's top factions and stables - the BDC, the Rising, and the Revolution - will be represented. This would leave room for two more teams. But which ones?

Ringside: Impact Wrestling Review - Apr 3, 2015

TNA is doing a stellar job of presenting recent episodes of IMPACT with varying themes.  The look and feel of the show was really unique and tidy this week with Bell to Bell.  I'm not personally a huge comic-book, super hero guy.  Nevertheless, I still found it to be a very fun way to break up the monotony of how the match line-up graphics are shown to the audience with the animation stuff.  It honestly looked very much like a product of the talented, real-life artist Samuel Shaw when I initially watched the show.  Afterwards, looking at his Twitter time-line, he has confirmed that those drawing were indeed his which is a great way to utilize his artist offerings and also provide a different vibe for IMPACT.  There was some questions beforehand about what "Bell to Bell" actually meant but we soon found out.

TNA Friday Randomania - Apr 3, 2015

- We're three months into 2015 and I think we're witnessing a bit of momentum for TNA and going into what are essentially the weeks leading into the Road to Slammiversary, it appears that the company's doing very well from a creative and business standpoint. I think, creatively, the television product has been as good as its been in many years. The world title picture was on display last week as each contender made their presence felt in a segment that served as a celebration for new champion Kurt Angle as it did a refresher on who the players are. As Ethan Carter III, Bobby Roode, Eric Young, Austin Aries, and Lashley made their case for being the next to challenge Angle, I couldn't help but think how impressive TNA's world title scene currently is. I can't remember the last time it was as deep and talented as it is right now.

TNAMecca Exclusive: Q&A with Magnus

Tomorrow night on a special "Bell to Bell" edition of Impact, Magnus is scheduled to fight Bram in a Falls Count Anywhere match. It's been a clash months in the making and it promises to be a violent affair in which its two competitors have one thing in mind: to hurt the other. I'm happy to say that Magnus, a former TNA world heavyweight champion, just a day before his match, took the time to answer some questions exclusively for TNAMecca. Below is our exchange:

The Yellow Streak

It has been 18 months since the debut of Dixie Carter's nephew, and barely a week goes by lately without Ethan Carter III reminding us that he has remained undefeated this entire time.  His claim of having an 18 month undefeated streak is tenuous to say the least, and is often made with the addendum that he himself has not been pinned or made to submit during any of his matches.

Whilst this is certainly true, is Ethan Carter III's undefeated streak as impressive or as glorious as he seems to think?  The answer to that question has to be an unequivocal no.
