A New Era Indeed

When I first heard about a new era in TNA, I immediately thought we'd see a new creative direction and although we have seen a much more interesting product compared to last year's uninspiring effort, the creative aspect of the company, particularly the booking and philosophy, has remained pretty much the same.  I, then, thought perhaps it's the new emphasis on characters and gimmicks.  In recent months, we've witnessed the creation of several colorful characters such as Willow, Samuel Shaw, and Rockstar Spud as well as other fascinating characters.  Considering the lack of well-thought out gimmicks the last several years, it certainly feels like a new era with a renewed focus on a character-driven product. But I'm still not sure that's what Dixie Carter meant when she announced the new era in TNA.

GFW Announces Partnership with Mexico's AAA

Jeff Jarrett announced today that his new promotion Global Force Wrestling will partner with Mexico's AAA which had been previously in a semi-working relationship with TNA.  In all honesty, TNA's supposed partnership with AAA was at best one-sided with the Mexican promotion consistently getting TNA talents to wrestle at their events whereas AAA talents never traveled to the US for TNA shows due to contractual restrictions that had nothing to do with TNA.  In any case, I'm not sure I'm overly excited about this news as I'm not a fan of Konnan's and feel that he's a cancer to the wrestling industry.  If he ever appeared on GFW's show, it'd be the last time I tuned in.  Click here to read the full press release.

UPDATE: TNA Signs Former NXT Star Tom Latimer

Richard Gray of Wrestling News World is reporting that former NXT star and member of the Ascension Tom Latimer has signed to a contract with TNA.  This is something we had a feeling would happen since news broke that Latimer wrestled a tryout match at a recent set of Impact tapings.  I think this is a great signing as Latimer is a young talented wrestler with presence.  Hopefully, we'll have some sort of confirmation soon.

UPDATE: We can now confirm that Tom Latimer was indeed signed to a TNA contract.  He made his official debut at tonight's Impact tapings.

Pick 'em League: Post Sacrifice Standings

The first major event of Season 2 has taken place, 24 points were up for grabs this past Sunday, and 63 members of the league made their picks all aiming to take an early lead in the season. There were many favourites going into Sacrifice, but it wasn't guaranteed they'd be the one's who would walk out with the win. Out of the 63 members who made their picks, 7 had a clean sweep and earned all 24 available points. With that being said, let's take a look at the breakdown of the Sacrifice picks.

That Twisted Road to Slammiversary

So here we are now after the Sacrifice Pay-Per-View.  The direction of the company has been fairly unpredictable the last 2 1/2 weeks with Eric Young winning and retaining the TNA World Heavyweight Championship.  Now we have The Wolves in possession of the Tag Team belts, much to most fans delight.  Angelina Love secured the 3rd recent title change and has set a record for the most Knockouts Title runs in TNA history.  The divisions are continuing to evolve and take shape, which I notice is testing some TNA fans loyalties.  It must be a difficult job to run a pro-wrestling company in the national spotlight.  You just simply cannot please all of the people all of the time, no matter what you do.  What you can do, however, is focus on certain audience demographics.  The trend I continue to see Total Non-Stop Action Wrestling gravitating towards is a more and more adult-oriented product......one that is more crazy than we've ever seen before.

Who Are the New Talent Signings?

We've been hearing rumblings of new talent signings for a couple of weeks now. Dixie Carter tweeted about about them recently and today, PWInsider reports that there's talk of new talents coming soon.  The question is who are these new talent signings?  Last night, TNA revealed that Knux and Rebel will be coming to TNA with two associates named Crazy Steve and the Freak.  There's some speculation that Crazy Steve is an indie wrestler who previously had competed in Gutcheck but like the Ethan HD situation, it's best not to assume.  Some believe this is a way to write Tom Latimer into the show, presumably as the Freak.  But beyond that, who else could we see sign with TNA?  The Wolves will need new opponents and they've already namedropped the Young Bucks and reDRagon as potential teams they'd like to face.  And lastly, what are the chances that Prince Devitt has signed on the dotted line?  I've maintained all along that I believe Devitt coming to TNA is a strong possibility.  I've already written a POV on this matter but I'll reiterate, why exactly hasn't he signed with the WWE yet?  What's causing the delay?  Could it be that TNA have given him a reason to re-think his decision?

Post-Sacrifice Discussion - Apr 27, 2014

One of my favorite activities after watching a TNA PPV is searching for forums in which fans can talk about the show and share with one another their thoughts.  However, it's getting increasingly harder to find venues where TNA fans can safely express their opinions on the show without having to deal with the trolling of the anti-TNA crowd or the smarks who insist on taking the fun out of pro wrestling.

For this reason, we felt it was important to make TNAMecca available to our readers and any TNA fans who would like to discuss the show after watching it.  You can now visit TNAMecca immediately following every PPV to do exactly that in the comments section below.  So please feel free to share with us your thoughts on tonight's Sacrifice, live from Orlando.  What did you think of the show?  What did you like or dislike?  Let us know.

TNAMecca Pick 'em: Sacrifice Polls are Closed!

This Sunday is the second event of this season's Pick 'em League, and with a stacked card, it means the members of the league have a chance to earn a maximum of 24 points. The top matches for Sacrifice include Eric Young defending the World Title against Magnus, Willow & Kurt Angle teaming up to battle EC3 & Rockstar Spud, Bully Ray and Bobby Roode squaring in a Tables match and Gunner & James Storm facing off in an I Quit Match. Its tough to call any of these matches, and while its early in the season, its crucial to get as many points in the bag early and build some momentum.

The polls are now open and will close this Sunday at 7PM EST. To make your picks, simply fill out the form below and submit it before the deadline. You can check if you're registered by looking at the leaderboard underneath the form, if you see your name highlighted in Green, it means your picks have been received. Please note, this is a manual process and it may take some time from submitting your picks for your name to be highlighted. Good luck to everyone taking part, its going to be interesting to see if anyone can achieve a clean sweep with their picks for what should be a very fun event.

TNA Sacrifice 2014: Preview & Predictions

For those of you who visit TNAMecca regularly know we usually post previews and predictions individually for each match on the card for PPVs.  But we've decided to change things up a bit by bringing you one preview, in which the TNAMecca staff share with you their predictions for each match as well as some commentary.  Please feel free to share with us your predictions and thoughts on the Sacrifice matches in the comments section below.

Post-IMPACT Discussion for Apr 24, 2014

One of my favorite activities after watching Impact is searching for forums in which fans can talk about the show and share with one another their thoughts.  However, it's getting increasingly harder to find venues where TNA fans can safely express their opinions on Impact without having to deal with the trolling of the anti-TNA crowd or the smarks who insist on taking the fun out of pro wrestling.

For this reason, we felt it was important to make TNAMecca available to our readers and any TNA fans who would like to discuss the show after watching it.  You can now visit TNAMecca immediately following Impact to do exactly that in the comments section below each and every week.  So please feel free to share with us your thoughts on tonight's Impact from Orlando.  What did you think of the show?  What did you like or dislike?  Let us know.

TNA Signs with UTA!

This is enormous news that most likely pertains to TNA's TV rights. I suspect that TNA are finally shopping Impact due to Viacom/SpikeTV's interest in WWE TV and have reached out to United Talent Agency to negotiate the right TV deal for them, hopefully with networks like FOX, TBS, etc. Please keep in mind however that I'm merely speculating as there has been no confirmation by TNA. Click here to read the full press release by Deadline.

TNA Thursday Randomania - Apr 24, 2014

- I'm surprised to hear some complain regarding the lack of build for the Sacrifice PPV on Sunday because I don't think there's a match on the card that hasn't had, at least, some build.  In fact, there's not a single match that one can argue doesn't serve a purpose.  Perhaps they're thrown off by the fact that TNA essentially announced the entire line-up via their website but it still doesn't justify the criticism I've seen for the lack of build.  Personally, I think the build for Sacrifice has been perfectly fine with a couple of feuds seemingly coming to end (Gunner vs James Storm) while others are only just heating up (Bully Ray vs Bobby Roode).  Sacrifice should be a fun show with some good wrestling and perhaps a surprise or two as Sunday night kick-starts the road to Slammiversary in June.

Christopher Daniels Officially a Free Agent

Christopher Daniels announced on his official Twitter account today that he is officially a free agent indicating that his contract with TNA has expired without a new deal. It's certainly not a good sign simply because it means that the two sides could not come to an agreement. Of course, a new deal could still be agreed upon down the line but there's no word on whether or not the two sides plan to continue negotiations. Unfortunately, my gut tells me that we've seen the last of Daniels in TNA at least for the foreseeable future.

MVP: Be Careful What You Wish For

One of my personal highlights from last Thursday's Impact was the confrontation between The Most Disgruntled Man That Ever Lived, Austin Aries, and our Head of Wrestling Operations, MVP.

Whenever Austin Aries is given some airtime, he makes the most of it.  Whenever Austin Aries is given a microphone, he proves that he is one of the greatest talkers that has ever stepped into a wrestling ring. However, with this week's Impact fast approaching, my joy at seeing Austin Aries in such a potentially high profile feud has transformed into a feeling of unease at what may transpire in their match on Thursday.

I can't help but wonder, will MVP end up looking like the bad guy when the dust has settled on this match?

22 April 2014

The Wolves Must Win the Tag Titles at Sacrifice

Sacrifice is only a few days away and one of the things that I'm most looking forward to is the BroMans' lame duck tag title reign coming to an end.  Although I often find the team of Robbie E and Jessie Godderz entertaining, their tag title reign has essentially rendered the tag titles worthless.  Unfortunately, this isn't exclusive to the BroMans as the once prestigious tag titles, held by teams like the Motor City Machine Guns and Beer Money, have been relegated to shiny props the last year or so.  For some inexplicable reason, the writers took the belts off Bad Influence at Bound for Glory in 2012 at the height of their popularity and it's been a lackluster 18 months for the TNA tag team championships since, minus the brief stint by Austin Aries and Bobby Roode.  Looking back now, I'd rather TNA had kept the titles on Bad Influence the entire time, or at least until a legit tag team emerged to challenge them.

#REWIND365: 7-20 April 2014

Welcome to #REWIND365 Where the Reaction Never Ends, a selective look at the fortnight's offerings from #IMPACT365.  It has been a crazy two weeks for TNA with the World Title changing hands in the most unexpected of ways.  Dixie carter returned to cause waves and do what she does best by trolling those that have criticised Eric Young's win, and EC3 didn't lose his streak.  #REWIND365 has been monitoring all the uploads over this Easter holiday and brings you a selection of some of the best on offer.

Dixie Carter Teases Big Talent Signings!

Dixie Carter announced on her official Twitter account late last night that TNA has signed big talents or will be soon. It'll be interesting to see which talents Dixie's referring to but I have a feeling there may be a tag team or two on that list as the Wolves will need competition when they win the TNA tag team titles. We've also heard rumors in the past week that Low Ki might have signed a contract with the company so perhaps we'll see a couple of X Division wrestlers be signed. And lastly, dare I mention, the possibility of Prince Devitt coming to TNA which has been rumored in recent weeks. This is all very exciting news as this Summer is shaping up to be one of the most fun in TNA history with Eric Young as world champion, Impact tapings in New York City, etc.

UPDATE: TNA Announces More Matches for Sacrifice PPV

TNA announced more matches for the Sacrifice PPV on Sunday April 27th, on the the company's site today.  In a rematch for the TNA world heavyweight title, Magnus will challenge current world champion Eric Young.  Willow and Kurt Angle will team up to take on Ethan Carter III and Rockstar Spud.  Sanada and Tigre Uno will battle in Match #3 of their best of three series.  And lastly, Mr. Anderson and Samuel Shaw will continue their feud in a Committed Match where I'm assuming the loser gets locked inside the Psychiatric Services van.

Post-IMPACT Discussion for Apr 17, 2014

One of my favorite activities after watching Impact is searching for forums in which fans can talk about the show and share with one another their thoughts.  However, it's getting increasingly harder to find venues where TNA fans can safely express their opinions on Impact without having to deal with the trolling of the anti-TNA crowd or the smarks who insist on taking the fun out of pro wrestling.

TNA to Tape Impact at Sands in Bethlehem, PA in June!

Dixie Carter announced today that TNA will be taping Impact at the Sands Casino in Bethlehem, PA on June 19th and 20th. I had wondered where TNA would tape the June 19th and 26th episodes of Impact. A casino is a very interesting choice and one that might tell us more about what the company plans to do in the future in order to continue to tape on the road while saving money by not renting large to mid-sized arenas.  For those who don't know, Bethlehem is just a two-hour drive from New York City.  Overall, I'm a fan of this decision.

TNA Thursday Randomania - Apr 17, 2014

- It's been a very interesting week for wrestling fans as the shocking victory by Eric Young to become the new TNA world heavyweight champion seemed to divide the fans into two groups - the TNA fans and everyone else.  I can't remember the last time TNA fans rallied around one of their own and defended him against those who attempted to disparage him and his worth.  They defended him because they have an emotional connection with Eric Young, the likes of which is becoming more rare in an environment where many are all too happy to be detached as long as they correctly predict the demise of a certain company.  This is why Eric Young's victory is significant.  It awakened in us that special feeling that only pro wrestling can, and it exposed those who think they are too smart for the genre.  Those people are simply too stubborn to realize that pro wrestling has always been about the connection one has with the wrestlers and their stories inside the ring.  Luckily for TNA fans, Eric Young reminded us of that fact this week.  And it irked everyone else.  To them, Eric Young is the antithesis of what a world champion looks like.  To TNA fans, he's...well...Eric Young.

TNA Signs Rockstar Spud to an Extension!

This is a unique way to announce a contract extension but this is Rockstar Spud we're talking about here so this is quite fitting. It's good to see that TNA realize what a gem they have in Spud as he's quickly become one of the most entertaining characters in all of pro wrestling. I'm completely in support of this decision simply because Spud as a character has only just begun to reach his potential.  I can not wait to see what TNA have planned for him as it appears he will be with the company for at least another year.

15 April 2014

Thank You EY!

So here we are, almost a week removed from the most shocking TNA World Title win in company history.  That's right.  The MOST SHOCKING World Title win EVER in TNA's near-12 year history.  As I have let it sink in over the last few days, I have to say, nobody ever saw this coming.  I imagine that is exactly what TNA was going for.  All the promotion and advertising going forward included Magnus as World Champion, as far in the future as Slammiversary (just look at the poster on the right-side margin for proof).  Eric Young has no T-shirt to purchase on www.ShopTNA.com.  He has little to no merchandise for sale.  He isn't available to be on the current house show loop because he is busy taping episodes for his new show on Animal Planet/Discovery Channel.  The evidence suggests that neither EY or TNA had really planned in advance for this to happen.  Taking all of that information into consideration, the majority of fans (according to social media and our own TNAMecca poll) believe that TNA called this audible at precisely the right time.

TNA Signs Robbie E to Multi-Year Deal!

I expect this decision to receive much criticism from many fans but I think Robbie E serves a purpose in TNA. Along with Jessie Godderz and DJ Z, he has formed a very entertaining trio that appeals to women which is part of TNA's new initiative on SpikeTV. With that said, I enjoy the BroMans much more when they're not de-valuing the TNA tag team championships but overall, I'm fine with Robbie E as a member of the Impact Wrestling roster.

Behind The Curtain Volume IV: Send in your Questions!

In the next week or so I'll be doing the next edition of Behind The Curtain, so I'm opening it up to you guys and taking questions here. There's quite a bit to discuss at the minute including Eric Young's World Title win, the re-signing and departures of current TNA stars, the launch of GFW, Impact in NYC and so much more. If you have any questions about these topics or any other TNA related topics, simply post it in the comments section below. If you want my opinion on something, or simply want to start discussion about your topic within the TNAMecca community, now's the perfect time to do so.

14 April 2014

TNA Signs Gunner to Multi-Year Deal

I didn't realize Gunner's contract was expiring but I like this move simply because Gunner has, in the last few months, become one of the company's top babyfaces, highlighted by one of this year's best feuds with James Storm.  What's remarkable about Gunner is the fact that he still has quite a bit of potential to be a top star in TNA for a while as he's now entering the prime of his career, just in time for a mega-push.

RUMOR: GFW Interested in Two Top TNA Stars

Richard Gray of Wrestling News World is reporting that Jeff Jarrett's new promotion, Global Force Wrestling, is targeting top talents from various indie promotions as well as top stars in TNA.  Gray reports that GFW has interest in signing TNA stars Kurt Angle and Samoa Joe.  The two stars' TNA contracts will reportedly expire later this year, which would be ideal timing for Jarrett to pursue the two potential free agents.  In the case of Kurt Angle, I'm not too concerned simply because I believe he will leave TNA regardless when his contract expires.  However, Samoa Joe isn't someone I'd want to see leave the company.

13 April 2014

Ringside: Impact Wrestling Review - Apr 10, 2014

REPORT: Chris Sabin Done with TNA

We reported the other day the rumors regarding Chris Sabin's status with TNA and that he was perhaps on his way out.  Well, PWInsider is now reporting that Chris Sabin has finished up with the company following this weekend's One Night Only tapings.  It appears that a deal could not be agreed on and Sabin will officially become a free agent.  Again, please keep in mind that this is not news until we hear from TNA or Chris Sabin.  Unfortunately, Sabin was a victim of devastating injuries that essentially derailed his career and his comeback, although a valiant effort, just never seemed to click for him.  As a huge Chris Sabin fan, I will miss him in TNA but I think this is a decision that TNA needed to make.

Tom Latimer Wrestles in TNA Dark Match

Prior to tonight's X-Travaganza One Night Only PPV tapings, Tom Latimer wrestled in a tryout dark match against a local wrestler. For those who don't know, Latimer is Kenneth Cameron of The Ascension, one of NXT's hottest tag teams in recent years.  Unfortunately, the WWE released Latimer in November of 2012 after some issues with the law.  Putting that aside, I think Latimer is a good worker with a great look so I wouldn't be surprised to see TNA, once again, pull another rabbit out of their hat like they did with Ethan Carter III. After the show, Bob Ryder tweeted the following regarding TNA's interest in Latimer:

RUMOR: Low Ki Signed to TNA Contract?

If true, this would be fantastic news as Low Ki is one of the most dynamic wrestlers in the industry right now and at 34 years old, he's still in the prime of his career. He would fit right in to the X Division and can be one half of a great tag team. Only time will tell if this is true but this would be an excellent move by TNA.

12 April 2014

Ryder: "Several more extensions will be announced soon."

This tweet by Bob Ryder is significant because there was a report recently that he had been more involved in Talent Relations so he'd be privy to this sort of information. This is also great news as TNA fans have been anxious about the status of several talents on the roster, and particularly those who have not been on TV lately. Let's hope the James Storm extension is a start of a trend and not the exception.

TNA Signs James Storm to Multi-Year Deal!

This is great news as I feel that James Storm has elevated his game in recent months after a year of essentially having no purpose in the show. It's also nice to see that talents who step up their game are rewarded with new contracts by TNA. It will certainly calm the nerves of the fans who assume that the company is simply purging the longtime originals. Some originals are keepers and James Storm is one of them.

Eric Young as World Champion: From all Angles

So last night on Impact we saw what many of us never thought we'd see in TNA Wrestling as Eric Young, yes THAT Eric Young, became TNA World Heavyweight Champion! Some called it in advance (ahem Craig Hermit), some were shocked, some were happy, and some were pointing it out as "unoriginal", either way the wrestling world is talking about it. There are so many ways to take this, so let's look at all the angles and discuss what could be the pluses and minuses of Eric Young as TNA World Champion.

Post-IMPACT Discussion for Apr 10, 2014

One of my favorite activities after watching Impact is searching for forums in which fans can talk about the show and share with one another their thoughts.  However, it's getting increasingly harder to find venues where TNA fans can safely express their opinions on Impact without having to deal with the trolling of the anti-TNA crowd or the smarks who insist on taking the fun out of pro wrestling.

TNA to Tape Impact in New York City this Summer

Last night during Impact, TNA officially announced that the company will tape Impact in New York City at the Grand Ballroom of the Manhattan Center on June 25th through 27th.  We had been hearing rumors and reports by various sources about this the last several weeks so I'm happy to finally be able to report it as news.  This is very exciting news for many reasons but I think it's important to note that TNA could be testing New York City as a potential new home for Impact tapings going forward.  If this is the case, this is an enormous next step for the company.

Samoa Joe to Miss Tonight's Impact

Storyline-wise, this is an interesting development simply because it appears that Samoa Joe isn't happy that he will have to compete with nine other wrestlers to get a fair shot at the TNA world title, something he has yet to receive. Conversely, it appears that Joe is dealing with some sort of real life injury that's preventing him from wrestling so I hope it's nothing too serious.

Pick 'em League: Make Your Impact Picks Now

Season 2 has officially begun! First of all, I'd like to welcome all 93 participants to this new season, it's nice to have so many from last season return to partake in the festivities, and it's great to have so many new participants join in the fun. Season 2 kicks off with this Thursday's Impact, with a steady 3 points up for grabs to get the ball rolling as The Wolves will take on the BroMans for the World Tag Team Titles.

The polls are now open and will close this Thursday at 7PM EST. Good luck to everyone as we start Season 2, I'm sure you've all got your eyes on finishing the season in first place, remember, every pick counts!

From Monster to Champion? ABYSS!

Last week on Impact after the ferocious fatal four way for the TNA Heavyweight Title, there was one man's name that was associated with the Title, it wasn't the Champion Magnus nor was it the legendary Samoa Joe but it was the Monster Abyss.

Towards the closing of the match, the Monster battled with long time friend/nemesis Eric Young and connecting with the Black-Hole Slam, he was ready to go for the pin but he was stopped by his employer Magnus, then told to step aside as his employer reaped the rewards by retaining the Title.

TNA Thursday Randomania - Apr 10, 2014

- Tonight, the Wolves finally get their tag team title rematch against the BroMans.  They had previously challenged the tag champs in a three-way that also included the team of Sanada and Tigre Uno but it's nice to see one of the most talented tag teams in the world finally get to wrestle in a traditional tag match.  Since their arrival, I believe the Wolves have wrestled only two matches that fit this description so it's time for TNA to unleash them and give Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards the opportunity to show the fans why it is that they are considered one of the best tag teams in pro wrestling.  Furthermore, it's time to take the tag title belts off the BroMans tonight.  I like the BroMans and I feel that there's a role for them on the Impact Wrestling roster.  That role, however, is not as tag team champions.  I hate to say it because I have respect for every man or woman who busts their ass inside that ring but the BroMans are lame duck champions.  The fans are biding their time until the Wolves finally go in for the kill, essentially making their victory a formality.  Yes, we will all be happy that the Wolves have captured the gold but at the end of the day, they will have defeated the BroMans.  Again, Robbie E and Jessie Godderz are entertaining and have even elevated their game since the addition of DJ Z but as champions, they've been a non-factor.  A victory by the Wolves tonight would finally begin the process of getting the Tag Team Division back on track.  As champions, the Wolves will command the respect they deserve and as a result, will make every tag title match relevant, something that's not the case right now.  Incidentally, this match is included in our Pick 'em League so make sure you make your pick by 7PM EST tonight if you haven't.

#1 Contenders 10-Man Gauntlet for World Title on Impact!

MVP just announced on Impact Wrestling's site that there will be a 10-man gauntlet match on this week's Impact to determine the #1 contender for the TNA world heavyweight champion at the Sacrifice PPV on April 27th.  The first nine competitors announced for the match, which will open this week's show, are Bobby Lashley, Bully Ray, Gunner, Ethan Carter III, James Storm, Bobby Roode, Samoa Joe, Eric Young, and Willow.

UPDATE: The final competitor announced for the gauntlet is Abyss.

Could Prince Devitt Possibly Sign with TNA?

For the last several months, one of the biggest stories in pro wrestling has been Prince Devitt and the possibility of him leaving New Japan Pro Wrestling for the WWE.  The belief among wrestling fans and experts has always been that Devitt would eventually sign with the WWE.  It was just a matter of time, we were told.  I don't doubt the fact that Devitt has been considering an offer by the WWE the last few weeks and months but is there at all a slim chance that Dixie Carter and John Gaburick can somehow convince the talented Irishman to sign a contract with TNA?  Is it at all a possibility?  Last week, Prince Devitt was defeated in a Loser Leaves NJPW match so we know for a fact that he's coming to America.  The only question is...has he agreed to sign with the WWE or is there still a chance that we could see him in a TNA ring this Summer?  We typically don't report unsubstantiated rumors here at TNAMecca but a rumor has surfaced in recent days that TNA are making a last minute push to sign him.  So again, I ask you my fellow TNA fans...could TNA possibly sign the Prince Devitt?

Welcome to #REWIND365 Where the Reaction Never Ends, a selective look at the fortnight's offerings from #IMPACT365.  Magnus and Abyss, EY and Samoa Joe, Roode and EC3, Willow and Bully Ray; in the past two weeks TNA seems to have gone into overdrive providing us with interesting pairings to interweave storylines and push them forward in a way that doesn't feel stale each week.  As ever, #IMPACT365 has been keeping us up to date with the highlights and backstage interviews to back up the action, and here is a selection of some of the best.

TNA to Unveil "Exciting News" on This Week's Impact!

It looks like Dixie Carter is bringing the goodies with her upon her return to TNA this week. It's anybody's guess what she's referring to but the "exciting news" could be anything from Impact tapings on the road, presumably New York City, to a new signing, etc. Some are not happy to see Dixie Carter return but I think there's a place for her on the show if used properly. So let's hear it, TNA fans. What do you think the exciting news could be?

TNA Announces X Division One Night Only PPV!

And the news keeps on coming! Although we've already seen these names before, I'm still very excited to watch Rubix, Greg Marasculo (Trent? for the indie fans), and yes, Low Ki. I hope TNA still have one or two surprise additions for the PPV however...perhaps someone that we haven't seen before.  Nonetheless, it's good to see familiar faces return for at least one night.  Hopefully, we'll see some of them on a regular basis in order to give the X Division some much needed depth.

Christy Hemme Joins TNA Creative Team!

There were rumors that Christy Hemme had taken on a bigger role backstage but it's nice to finally get confirmation from John Gaburick that she's indeed part of the Creative team, presumably in charge of the Knockouts Division.  The Knockouts appear to be getting a bit of reboot with the reunion of the Beautiful People and the addition of Brittany so hopefully the division begins to resemble the one that made the top women's division in all of pro wrestling.

Jeff Jarrett Announces Global Force Wrestling!

GFW! GFW?! Global Force Wrestling is officially upon us. Before I share with you my opinion, I plan to check out the website and all the info that's provided. I will comment later in the comments section. With that said, I plan to give Jarrett's new promotion a chance when it debuts.  What do you guys think? Saturday Night Chat - April 5, 2014

Welcome to Saturday Night Chat on TNAMecca!  Although we aren't an open forum where members can start their own threads, our sense of community spirit is what sets us apart from other wrestling sites so we thought it'd be fun to give our members the ability to dictate the discussion for one night a week.  Anything goes in Saturday Night Chat but we do ask that all topics remain TNA-related and stay on topic. You can also discuss any rumors from any source regardless of how ludicrous they might sound.  However, the same etiquette rules that apply to our comments section in general also will apply here, including our policy on spoilers.

Behind The Curtain: Q&A Volume III

Welcome to the 3rd Edition of Behind The Curtain, in this Q&A I'll be answer question's concerning the next breakout star, what TNA need to rebuild several division's, the futures of several roster members and much more. So without further delay, lets get to the Q&A.

What We Learned from #AskBig and Dixie

Firstly, I'd like to say again how respectable it was to hear from another member of upper management in TNA.  They really do want to take what the fans ask for into account with their product.  It seems as though Big John Gaburick, TNA Executive Vice President,  and the management group want to recognize  their fans like us (that actually want TNA to succeed).  We at TNAMecca may not all agree on everything here all the time, but that's totally OK because if we all agreed about everything all the time, it would get boring.  We only want fans to be fair and at least open-minded (and hopefully objective) towards TNA and it's current direction.  So let me give you some Big John quotes and paraphrasing and also some summary thoughts of my own from the #AskBig Q & A video session.  Then we'll discuss below in the comment section.

In Willow's Way

“We love. We hate. We die forever late. In Willow’s way…”  These are the words that ended every promo that introduced Jeff Hardy’s Willow persona to the Impact fans leading to Lockdown. Some fans didn’t know what to expect while other fans that have followed Hardy since the OMEGA days at least had an idea. Personally I think Willow has exceeded my expectations thus far. So here’s what we got as of now.

Post-IMPACT Discussion for Apr 3, 2014

TNA Thursday Randomania - Apr 3, 2014

- I've found TNA's inability, or unwillingness, to fully commit to the X Division on a weekly basis quite frustrating the last several years but I have, time and time again, given them the benefit of the doubt.  The fact remains, however, that every time there has been some sort of effort to re-establish the division since Austin Aries cashed in his title to challenge for the world title via Option C in 2012, TNA has dropped the ball.  This year has been no different.  With the exception of a ridiculously contrived feud between Austin Aries and Chris Sabin that did neither wrestler any favors, the division has once again struggled to gain any momentum.  Last month, WRESTLE-1's Seiya Sanada defeated Aries to become the new X Division champion and although the title has received some recognition in Japan, we've yet to see any sort of sustained effort by TNA to capitalize on it by having Sanada defend his title on U.S. soil against an X Division wrestler.  Instead, he's been teaming with Tigre Uno in the Tag Team Division.  As much fun as it is to watch the two international stars combine their strengths, why exactly aren't they wrestling each other?

What to do with Bobby Lashley...

One thing that has gone seemingly under the radar among TNA fans, is the return of Bobby Lashley. While Bobby's return to TNA was indeed a surprise, it has not been met with much fanfare. Now, I may be in the minority here, but I think there is a lot of potential in Bobby Lashley and think TNA is a good fit for him. His first run in TNA never really seemed to get going, the attempt to balance both pro wrestling and MMA was too much of a challenge and he left to pursue MMA. Fast forward four years and Lashley has returned and seems committed to TNA and pro wrestling. But with so little fanfare and fans seemingly indifferent to Bobby's big return, what can TNA do with the former ECW World Champion and quasi-WrestleMania headliner? Well, I'll pretend like I know what I'm doing and put on my fantasy booker hat and tell you what I think can be done with Bobby Lashley.
