TNA Thursday Randomania - Jan 16, 2014

- I can't remember the last time TNA fans were as ecstatic as they were yesterday afternoon when Dixie Carter tweeted a hint regarding the new talent coming to Genesis.  If the reaction to that one tweet is any indication, TNA fans are still quite passionate about the company and product.  Unfortunately, we sometimes forget what a huge and spirited following TNA has simply because the anti-TNA sentiment is louder.  The haters always make more noise.  But the fact remains that TNA has millions of fans all over the world, who show their support each and every week when they tune in to watch Impact.  Yesterday, the reaction by the fans proved to me how relevant TNA still is and will remain due to the support of an emotionally invested fanbase.  It also proved that TNA fans have a bond with the company that's unlike any other in professional wrestling.  I, for one, am delighted to be part of the TNA family.

- We keep hearing how tonight's show will be a new beginning for TNA.  A new era.  Perhaps even a new creative direction.  Suffice it to say, I can't remember the last time I was this excited about an episode of Impact and that's saying something.  I always look forward to Thursday nights but this particular night comes with so much promise.  If you are a fan who's become disillusioned with the product in the last year or during the Hogan era and have stopped watching, I have a feeling tonight is a good time to give Impact another chance.

- So it looks like Davey Richards and Eddie Edwards will make their debut on tonight's show, although technically we've all jumped the gun and assumed this to be the case, based on Dixie Carter's tweet.  Honestly, I've always maintained that I am a wrestling fan first.  I'm not a journalist.  I'm not a reporter.  I'm a fan.  Quite frankly, my excitement got the better of me yesterday and I reported that the American Wolves are confirmed for Genesis.  If I prove to be wrong and you choose to hold it against me, I will understand.  But let me be clear...if I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't change a thing.

But yeah, I have a feeling that the American Wolves will be in Huntsville AL tonight so I say to the downers, eat shit.

- And lastly, I'd like to discuss the latest developments in the Jeff Jarrett saga.  For those who haven't been following him since his TNA departure, he and Karen Jarrett evidently spent a couple of days in Los Angeles.  From what I gather, Jeff Jarrett has been in meetings, presumably discussing his new wrestling promotion, although nothing has been confirmed or even teased.  With that said, the Jarretts returned to their home last night and I'm sensing that an announcement could come as early as this morning or some time today.  If so, is it a coincidence that it comes on the same day as Genesis?
