PREVIEW: Tag Team Gauntlet/Tag Team Title Match

The tag team division in TNA has sort of been in a funny state lately. Literally, as most of the teams seem to be built around comedic characters: Bad Influence, EY/Joseph Park and The Bro-Mans all provide great comedic moments on any Impact Wrestling broadcast. This leaves Chavo and Hernandez as the only "serious" contenders for the titles. But are they the team you want against Gunner and James Storm at BFG? This match is a great one to put on the pre-show; it'll be good fun and get the crowd amped up for the pay per view. One would also expect some good comedy from those involved as well.

PREDICTIONS
Big Dawg
"I think Bad Influence is the best tag team in the world.  However my heart is with my boys EY & Joseph Park.  Fishing For Justice will be fresh off of their BFG road trip, bonded and stronger than ever.  They will win in the upset victory."

Nick Mann
"I'm calling a Bad Influence win here as I don't think anyone would expect any of the other teams to have a chance at winning the titles."

Shelbin
"I can't imagine TNA would leave Bad Influence off of the BFG card so I fully expect them to win the gauntlet.  Besides, they're really the only team that realistically has any chance to defeat the current tag team champions."

MisterTNA
"I think Bad Influence get the win in this one. They are the only team I can see challenging Gunner & Storm, and I think BFG needs a double dose of EGO on the show."

FUTURE RAMIFICATIONS
Well the immediate future for the winners is a tag title shot on the pay per view, but the match should give us an indication whether Chavo is turning on Hernandez and what the next step in the Eric Young/Joseph Park story will be.

Whether you call them "Saints and Sinners", "Bar Fight", or "GunStorm", you have to call them the tag champions of the world. Both Storm and Gunner are great performers in their own right and actually compliment each other well, but the team has had little development and not a lot of TV time. The recent video package that aired on Impact was a step in the right direction and maybe a strong performance on TNA's grandest stage will give the team the shot in the arm it needs. Any of the teams involved in the pre-show gauntlet can provide that for them.

PREDICTIONS
MisterTNA
"Gunner & Storm haven't had the focus they should have during their run as tag champions, I think this is simply because the BFG Series took priority. Now that the series is over, I expect them to get focus and hold the tag titles for some time. Even if it's Bad Influence who challenges, I expect Saints & Sinners to walk out of Bound For Glory still the tag team champions."

Shelbin
"I've been going back and forth on this for a while but I think TNA aren't quite ready to take the belts off James Storm and Gunner just yet.  The proof is in the video we watched on Impact recently of the two that felt very much like an introduction to the tag champs."

Big Dawg
"I know it's ridiculous, but something tells me that EY & Joseph Park end up in this match and win the tag team gold.  I don't know how, but most likely Gunner and Storm will have a falling out and feud with each other.  Fishing For Justice are there to pick up the pieces and begin a fun little tag team championship run."

Nick Mann
"After seeing the video package on Impact recently, it seems to me that TNA is sticking with this team and I don't see them dropping the titles here."

FUTURE RAMIFICATIONS
This match will showcase whether or not TNA is going to start taking the tag team division seriously again. Will this match get any time? Will it be just comedy? What will its place be on the card? The answer to these questions may give us an indication of what direction TNA is going with the tag teams.
